Grant Jr. DAWGS 10U - Softball

DAWGS Mission

Just to reiterate the reason that we developed the competitive teams, I have compiled the following points:
? The competitive team concept is dedicated to developing and training girls to play in a competitive environment; to improve team character; and to improve individual character through softball by teaching leadership, fair play and sportsmanship.
? We have selected the best players at this level and will challenge them to develop emotionally and physically to their highest potential. They will be taught the true spirit of team play by respecting their teammates and opponents.
? We will give our best to prepare these girls to be able to compete at a level they have not experienced before. They will learn how to play at a higher level; they will learn how to win with class and how to loose with dignity.
? Through this program they will be taught skills that would normally not be taught at the in-house levels. Even though the coaches in the “In-house” league are excellent coaches, they will be straddle with a wide spread of talent and will have to coach to a level that all the girls will be able to participate. With our team comprised of girls who have obtained a higher skill level, we will teach more advanced skills. These skills will include bunting, stealing, signals, etc.
